Dear Sirs,

One of the friends of our proprietor in India informs us that you are one of the largest exporters of tea in India. Every month we import as much as 20,000 kgs. of tea and 10,000 kgs. of coffee from Indian merchants of Bombay. We are always short of requirements and many times we have to Import these articles from other Asian countries, like Pakistan, Ceylon, etc. We shall be glad to know if you are in a position to supply us at least 5,000 kgs. of tea every month. In case you can supply us this much quantity, please send us your trade terms and samples for our examination.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter dated 23rd May.

We have pleasure in informing you that we can supply you any quantity up to 2,500 kgs. every month.

Owing to the present fluctuation in the tea market the prices are generally changing every now and then. However, we shall be willing to enter into an agreement for a period 01 six months after which the agreement will be renewed keeping in view of the latest markets trends.

Present market price, i.e., the price at which we shall be willing to enter into an initial agreement for six months is Rs. 22.42 per kg.

All goods will be supplied F.O.B. London.

The payments of the goods must be settled within 90, days from the date of the bill.
We have today dispatched by Air Mail three packets of sample. Although the varieties are, different, the price is same, i.e., Rs. 22.42 per kg.

We hope you will find the above suitable and shall WI1te to us at your earliest on receipt of which we shall send you draft agreement for your final approval.
