Dear Sir,
Having been informed that you require the services of an experienced traveling salesman, I take this opportunity of placing before you the following particulars regarding my qualifications. I hope you will appoint me as your traveling salesman for Gujarat and Maharashtra States.
For the last seven years I have traveled extensively in these two States as a Chief Representatives of Messrs. Abdul Rahim and Co., Bombay, manufacturers of similar goods to that of yours. During this period, I came in contact with all types of dealers from the smallest to some of the biggest. I used to draw a salary of Rs. 800/- a month and my employers used to give me First Class
traveling expenses and all other conveyance charges. Besides, I also received a commission of 6 1/4% on all orders booked by me.
Due to unforeseen difficulties arising out of sudden illness of my mother, I could not remain in service for nearly 4 months. In my absence, my employers engaged the services of another person and therefore, they are much pleased with my work as you will see from the enclosed copies of certificates. If you refer to them, you will find that they speak very high of my work and ability.
If I am giving/an appointment I am willing to serve on any reasonable term. I feel certain that I shall be able to satisfy you and increase your business considerably. I need hardly assure you that if I am fortunate enough to get the job, I shall not spare any pains to prove myself worthy of the confidence that you may care to place in me,
